Social Media Missionary

There are so many things that we can do now, thanks to wi-fi.    The way I look at it is it can either be a blessing or a curse.  Internet has caused many troubles in more ways than I will even begin to list off.  On the other hand it's wonderful and so useful!  You can stay connected to your loved ones easier than ever, read the latest news and weather and more.
Personally I have two reasons I keep my social media sites

1. It's a great help when advocating for orphans with special needs.

2. It allows me to be a missionary over the entire world with just a few clicks.

Honestly if it weren't for those two reasons I would've been gone a long time ago.

I discovered at a young age that you can turn something people usually use for useful information into a huge blessing.

The social media world is like many other things in life, it can be amazing.  IF you learn and chose how to use it in the right ways.   If you chose to fool around with it you can easily lead people to fall into just as much sin as in "real" life.  I know, I'm stating the obvious, but these things are true.   It's too often I see people abusing their access to internet by tweeting and posting their own selfish thoughts to the whole world.  As if anyone needs to know Lucy is mad at Bryan, or that Sally and her mom got into a huge fight.  (Those aren't real people I know, only examples. Sorry Lucy, Bryan and Sally..if that's your name..)

There's no need to get online only to cuss and fuss about all that didn't go right in your day.   If you are a Christian, what example does your Facebook, Twitter, etc, say about you?
What if someone is lost, as in they haven't accept Christ as their savior, they know you are a Christian so they go to one of your pages and see the way you've wrote.  Would they ask you more about Christ and how they can get the joy and hope you have in living?  Or would they laugh, thinking, Some Christian they are.  Looks like it wouldn't do me any good to accept Christ if this is the way they are.

Your words are so important.  As a Christian it's your duty to step up and control yourself.  Online your words can be just as loud as your actions.   Let God's light and love shine throughout all your social media!  Be the encouragement someone needs.  Because I can promise you that you will help brighten someone's day when you take advantage of the internet access and use it in all the right ways for GOD. <3

I understand that your day isn't always going to be sunshine and rainbows, but fight the urge to rant about it online.  Resist typing something that could hurt someone and in the end you'll probably regret doing. You can always delete later, but you'll never be able to erase what someone read of yours in their minds.  That's not so easily fixed.   Instead find a Bible verse that helps you get through what you are going through and post or tweet it!  It may be just the verse someone else needed that day.

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." -John 16:33

Always stand up for God.  It's not always going to be easy, but no one ever promised it would be,   It will be worth it though.  Don't fall into the world, please please, do not go with the world's beliefs;  Stand up for your faith.  ALWAYS.

."Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" 2 Timothy 3:12

When you see a friend or follower in need of prayer or encouragement, let them know your thinking of tham or that you will be praying for them.  Encouraging people will make them feel so special and God wants you to treat others He would treat them.  Be the friend they need..

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing"   -Thessalonians 5:11

I strongly encourage you finding something you can write and share about online!  I blog and advocate for orphans with special needs on a daily bases.  I can't afford to go around the world and help others at this time in my life, but I've found out I don't have to be half way around the world to be a missionary.  Thanks to technology I can do it without leaving my house,  And to me that's a beautiful blessing that I am so grateful for!   :)

Be a missionary not only on social media, but in life too. Everywhere you go you have the chance to save someone else.
